What Is A Flow Hive?
A Flow Hive looks like a traditional beehive, but its honey frames have a clever twist. The honeycomb cells are pre-formed in food-safe material, ready for the bees to finish, fill and cap with their own wax.
When it's time to harvest, a simple turn of a key splits the cells inside the comb into channels, and the honey flows out of a tap on the side — no opening the hive, no extractor, no fuss.
Step By Step
How A Flow Hive Works
Bees Fill The Comb
Inside a Flow Hive sit special frames with part-formed honeycomb cells. The bees complete the comb with their own wax, fill each cell with honey and cap it with wax — exactly as they would in any hive.
Turn The Key
When the frames are full, you insert a tool and turn it. This splits each cell vertically, forming channels inside the comb — without opening the hive or disturbing the bees.
Honey Flows Out
Gravity does the rest. Pure honey runs down the channels, out of a tap on the side of the hive, and straight into your jar. No extracting, no spinning, no mess.
Bees Reset The Comb
Once the honey has drained, you turn the key back. The cells reform and the bees clean and refill them, ready to do it all again.
